LinkedIn Insight Tag checker
Check if the LinkedIn Insight Tag is installed on your site and loaded once, then confirm its status and conversions in LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
Scans the page's HTML in seconds. It also reports every other tracking script it finds.
about LinkedIn Insight Tag
Why it breaks quietly.
The LinkedIn Insight Tag sets a _linkedin_partner_id and loads a script from snap.licdn.com. It powers conversion tracking, website retargeting audiences and demographic reporting in Campaign Manager.
B2B teams often install it once and never look again. A site migration or a new landing page tool drops it, and retargeting audiences shrink and conversions stop without any error showing up.
what the free scan checks
Whether LinkedIn Insight Tag is in the page
The scan fetches the page's HTML and matches the vendor's script URL and install snippet.
Whether it blocks rendering
A script tag without async or defer delays the page from painting. Marketing scripts never need to.
Whether it's installed more than once
Duplicate installs usually send every event twice and inflate conversions.
How exposed the page is to blockers
A server-side readiness grade: whether tags load from domains blocklists target, and whether conversions have a server-side path.
It reads the HTML, so tags injected later (inside GTM, for example) don't show up, and it can't see events fire. That's what verification is for.
common failures
How LinkedIn Insight Tag goes dark.
The partner ID belongs to another account
The tag on the site uses a partner ID from an old or agency ad account. Data flows, but into a Campaign Manager account nobody uses.
Landing pages are missing the tag
The main site has it, but pages built in a separate tool or on a subdomain do not. Conversions that happen there never record.
URL-based conversions point at a changed URL
A conversion that triggers on a thank-you page URL stops matching when that URL changes during a redesign.
Event-specific conversions are never called
Conversions set up as events need a lintrk('track', { conversion_id }) call on the action. If the call is not wired to the button or form, nothing records.
by hand
Check it yourself, step by step.
- 1
In Campaign Manager, open Analyze, then Insight Tag, and check that your domains show as active with recent activity.
- 2
Check each conversion under Analyze, then Conversion tracking, for its status and last recorded date.
- 3
In Chrome DevTools, filter the Network tab for px.ads.linkedin.com and confirm a request goes out on page load.
- 4
View the page source and confirm _linkedin_partner_id matches the partner ID shown in Campaign Manager.
questions
Asked and answered.
Can this check tell me if LinkedIn Insight Tag events are firing?+
No. It scans the served HTML and can see whether the Insight Tag is present, duplicated or render-blocking. It cannot see a tag loaded by GTM or confirm conversions reach LinkedIn. TracerKit's Verification tier watches real fires and alerts when a tag goes silent.
Why does Campaign Manager show my Insight Tag as unverified?+
LinkedIn has not yet seen traffic from a page with the tag. It can take time to update after install, so check the network request on your site first.
Do I need the Insight Tag on every page?+
Yes, for retargeting and URL-based conversions. Pages without it are invisible to LinkedIn.
