TikTok Pixel checker

Check if the TikTok Pixel is installed on your site, flag duplicate or render-blocking loads, then verify events in TikTok Events Manager.

Scans the page's HTML in seconds. It also reports every other tracking script it finds.

about TikTok Pixel

Why it breaks quietly.

The TikTok Pixel loads from analytics.tiktok.com and starts with ttq.load and your pixel code. It reports page views and events like CompletePayment so TikTok ads can optimize and attribute.

Like other ad pixels it fails without any visible error. A missing parameter or a second install changes what TikTok reports, and ad performance shifts for reasons that look like creative or audience problems.

what the free scan checks

✓

Whether TikTok Pixel is in the page

The scan fetches the page's HTML and matches the vendor's script URL and install snippet.

✓

Whether it blocks rendering

A script tag without async or defer delays the page from painting. Marketing scripts never need to.

✓

Whether it's installed more than once

Duplicate installs usually send every event twice and inflate conversions.

✓

How exposed the page is to blockers

A server-side readiness grade: whether tags load from domains blocklists target, and whether conversions have a server-side path.

It reads the HTML, so tags injected later (inside GTM, for example) don't show up, and it can't see events fire. That's what verification is for.

common failures

How TikTok Pixel goes dark.

✗

CompletePayment without value or currency

TikTok needs value and currency on purchase events to report revenue and run value-based optimization. Without them the event counts but carries no revenue.

✗

The pixel is installed through two paths

A platform integration such as Shopify's TikTok app and a manual snippet both load the pixel, so events are sent twice.

✗

Pixel and Events API events are not deduplicated

If you also send server events, both sides need the same event_id. Otherwise TikTok counts each conversion twice.

✗

Ad blockers drop browser events

analytics.tiktok.com is on common block lists. Visitors running blockers never send events, which is why TikTok recommends pairing the pixel with the Events API.

by hand

Check it yourself, step by step.

  1. 1

Install the TikTok Pixel Helper Chrome extension and load the page to see which pixel codes and events it detects.

  2. 2

In TikTok Events Manager, open your pixel and use Test Events to watch events arrive as you click through the site.

  3. 3

Make a test purchase and confirm CompletePayment includes value and currency.

  4. 4

In Chrome DevTools, filter the Network tab for analytics.tiktok.com and confirm each event sends one request.

questions

Asked and answered.

Can this check tell me if TikTok Pixel events are firing?+

No. The free check scans served HTML for the pixel script and flags duplicates and render-blocking loads. It cannot see a pixel loaded by GTM or confirm events reach TikTok. TracerKit's Verification tier watches real fires and alerts when a tag goes silent.

Why does TikTok show fewer conversions than my store?+

Ad blockers, browser privacy features and attribution windows all reduce what the pixel reports. Adding the Events API with shared event IDs closes part of that gap.

Where do I find my TikTok pixel code?+

In TikTok Ads Manager, open Events Manager under Tools and select your web pixel. The code in ttq.load on your site should match it.
